About Brianna

Hi! My name is Brianna Ector, Psy.D.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist currently located in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a member of PSYPACT. (meaning I’m licensed to work in a few other states as well) I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and my Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Adler University in Chicago IL.
Throughout my years of practice, I have worked in hospital, community mental health, and college counseling settings as a diagnostician, group, couples, and individual therapist. And during this time I have developed my specialty working with LGBTQIA & POC communities as well as trauma exposed populations and people struggling with grief, identity development, family rejection, sexual dysfunction, commutation difficulties, and relationship difficulties.
My style is informed by Relational Constructivist and Existential theory. I value the uniqueness of the human experience and strive to co-create a safe, affirming space with clients through building a healthy relationship based upon mutual trust and respect. My goal is to foster your autonomy and empowerment and aid you in using your power to meet your goals.
The journey to living as our most authentic selves is a difficult and unique one for each of us. Finding a safe and affirming space to process our experiences and build coping skills to aid us in making our future goals a reality is an important part of that journey. Please schedule a 20 minute consultation to see if I am the right fit for your journey.
