About Bria
I’m an advanced clinical intern at Wildflower. I believe the essence of human nature is complex, layered, and connected. I believe in approaching therapeutic work holistically to recognize, validate, and give respect to every aspect of a client’s identity. Systematic oppression causes a heavy and often unbearable weight to members of marginalized communities. I affirm that it is my responsibility as a therapist to work to repair the trauma inflicted by these wounds by creating a space where my clients feel uplifted, supported, and heard.
My therapeutic style pulls from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Liberation Psychology, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing. I enjoy working with young adults, adults, and elders to navigate the various challenges and transitions in their lives. I hope to create a safe space for people of all backgrounds and identities. I am passionate about working with neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC populations and clients who actively identify with or are exploring non-monogamous relationships. I stand firmly in my beliefs of fat liberation, Black liberation, anti-racism, and sex worker decriminalization. I’m also interested in working with clients on issues surrounding mood/anxiety, trauma, sexuality, and reproductive mental health.
